INGREDIENTS:
  • Whey protein concentrate

Whey protein concentrates are created by pushing the protein source (milk, whey, etc.) through a very small filter that allows water, minerals and other organic materials to pass though.

Meanwhile, the proteins, which are too big to pass through the filter, are collected, resulting in protein powder.

  • Pea protein

Pea Protein is a relatively new form of protein powder which is valued for its high digestibility (90-95%), low potential for allergic responses and ability to supress the appetite.

Pea protein has a light, flurry texture and slightly sweet taste which mixes well in solution.

  • L-Glycine

As an amino acid, l-glycine provides several benefits to the body. It has an anti-inflammatory effect and also encourages the production of essential neurotransmitters and enzymes needed for proper brain functioning. In addition, it slows down the muscle degeneration process and helps to maintain the body’s thymus gland, spleen, bone marrow, and white blood cell levels.

  • Inulin

Inulin is a carbohydrate belonging to a class of compounds known as fructans and is closely related to fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS).

Although they aren’t the same, you will often find them used interchangeably.

These are all starches (carbohydrates), just varying in structure.

Since inulin is not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, it is considered to be a fiber.

It is a soluble fiber as opposed to cellulose, which is insoluble.

  • Acacia gum fiber

Acacia is the gum that is exuded from the acacia tree. It’s a dietary fiber that can dissolve in water.

  • Micellar casein

Micellar Casein is a dairy protein derived from milk and accounts for approximately 80% of the protein found within milk. Micellar Casein is undenatured casein that exists in its natural globular structure (known as a micelle).

  • Flaxseed concentrate

The essential fatty acids in flaxseeds are great for promoting good health, but don’t forget about the lignans! Derived from the fibrous portion of the flax seed, lignans are natural phytoestrogen compounds that support vital hormone-related functions in both men and women.

  • Apple fiber organic

Organic apple fiber powder aids in the removal of toxins from the digestive tract as well as enhancing bowel function. Apple fiber keeps you ‘regular’ by normalizing the digestive process and bowel movements. Also known to help with bowel problems such as constipation and diarrhea, apple fiber powder is an excellent at soothing irritated intestinal lining.

  • Soy lecithin

Soy lecithin is not soy protein, but instead a component of the soybean plant that is used an emulsifier in a variety of foods.

  • Arabinogalactan

Arabinogalactans are polysaccharides with a galactan core and side chains of galactose and arabinose sugars. For dietary consumption, arabinogalactan is isolated from the wood of the larch tree (Larix species) and is approved for use as a dietary fiber .

  • Stevia leaf extract

stevia or stevia leaf extract is an all natural sweetener with no known side-effects.  Voted the sugar killer in 2012.

  • Vanilla Bean Extract

Vanilla is a plant. The bean (fruit) is commonly used to make flavoring, but it is also used to make medicine. People take vanilla to treat intestinal gas and fever. In foods and beverages, vanilla is a well-known flavoring, but it is also added to foods to reduce the amount of sugar needed for sweetening. Some people add vanilla to food to help stop tooth decay.

  • Spirulina

Spirulina contains about 60% (51–71%) protein.

It is a complete protein containing all essential amino acids, though with reduced amounts of methionine, cysteine and lysine when compared to the proteins of meat, eggs and milk.

It is, however, superior to typical plant protein, such as that from legumes.

The U.S. National Library of Medicine stated that spirulina was no better than milk or meat as a protein source.

  • Chlorella

Chlorella is a genus of single-cell green algae, belonging to the phylum Chlorophyta.

It is an attractive potential food source because it is high in protein and other essential nutrients; when dried, it is about 45% protein, 20% fat, 20% carbohydrate, 5% fiber, and 10% minerals and vitamins.

Mass-production methods are now being used to cultivate it in large artificial circular ponds.

It is also abundant in calories, fat, and vitamins.

  • Acerola berry se

Acerola (Malpighia emarginata) is a significant source of vitamin C in the natural form of ascorbic acid, containing as much as 1000 to 4500 milligrams per 100 grams of edible fruit.

  • Dandelion root

The common dandelion, enemy of well-kept lawns, is an exceptionally nutritious food. Its leaves and root contain substantial levels of vitamins A, C, D, and B complex as well as iron, magnesium, zinc, potassium, manganese, copper, choline, calcium, boron, and silicon. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the roots of various species of dandelions are also used as “herbs that cool the blood.”

  • Kelp powder

Kelp, a type of seaweed that grows in colder ocean regions, boasts many health benefits including its ability to lower cholesterol, blood pressure and breast cancer risk.

  • Potassium chloride

Potassium is an essential nutrient we get from the food we eat. It typically comes in the form of potassium chloride.

Along with sodium, chloride, calcium, and magnesium, potassium is an electrolyte, meaning that it helps to conduct electrical charges in the body. Like all the other electrolytes, our bodies have evolved elaborate systems to control blood levels in a narrow range.

This is good news since normal levels of potassium are absolutely critical to life—if potassium levels get too high or too low, the heart and nervous system completely shut down.

Wavsmart or WavBeyond features a good mix of components that make up meal replacement shakes. They use natural ingredients, and utilize whey protein concentrate to deliver 15 grams per serving. As part of a multilevel marketing company, you will not find this product in stores, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

At first glance the ingredients are good overall, with no signs of soy, or any artificial colors, sweeteners, or anything that is going to cause alarm.

All Safe Ingredients

There is nothing that will increase concern from the ingredients, the protein is taken from whey, pea, and delivers a hefty amount per serving. There are some other nutrients as well, but nothing significant in terms of daily recommended values.

Conclusion

Wavsmart or WavBeyond is definitely a good overall option, and has a good balance of nutrients that will help you move forward with weight loss and management. Aside from being costly, and hard to find at times, it is definitely one of the better options out there.
